I just realized this is the same cut was the Darling Mums dress I blogged about earlier, so that explains why my review will be similar!  Same fit issues because GB isn't carrying the 0x, only the XL and the 1x, although I think I may try an XL if I closet anymore Phoebe cuts because it may just fit. We'll see! The top and straps were overwhelmingly big so a lot of my bra showed, but I paired it with a sweater so I could wear it. It was really cute! BTW, it has pockets! :D

My measurements in this Dress are:
Height: 5'5"
Weight: 258
Chest: 45 (40 DD)
Waist: 41
Hips: 56
Thigh: 31.75
Arm: 14.75
Pant Size: 18
Shirt Size: 1x
Dress Size in Photo: 1x

  1. This dress is super cute with that sweater. Too bad it doesn't fit like you want it to all the way though. But you get 3 at a time, right? So how are your odds with that plan?

I just joined GB last week for a similar reason as you - I've been losing weight (for the 3rd time) since Sept 2010. Yes, I am purposely taking it very slowly. First two times I lost it, it was right before I got married and right before baby #2. (I was 5 pounds from goal and smaller than I was before I had baby #1. I might still be just a teeny bit bitter about that. :-D) I figure since I'm done having kids, when I lose it this time it will stay gone. So now I'm at the point where I am between sizes again and even though I usually keep a range at hand, I gave away a ton at one point instead of pretending like I'd get back in them soon. That was fine, but now I'm dealing with stuff that is too big for me and it's finally starting to bug me. Oh, and for reference, I'm down about 43 pounds right now and I have anywhere from 38 to 48 pounds to go, depending on how I feel when I get to the 38 mark. Right now, though, I'll be happy to get down 16 to 20 more by next September (got a convention to go to that will result in photographic evidence that I want to actually be happy about! ha!). It may be 2016 before I reach goal. That will work for me.

Anyway, GB seemed like the perfect transitional thing to do. I think my first thing comes tomorrow. I spent alllll day yesterday - truly hours and hours - trolling the site, closeting, holding, emailing the company to put some of my preferred stuff first on the list and sending them some thoughts about how they really need to make some improvements to their site given what it's used for. My eyes were killing me, but it was fun! I joined with the trial they are currently offering, but I first saw this a few months ago and was planning to do it next year anyway. I'm just doing 1-piece at a time for now. With that, I know I'll be thinking about ways to complete an outfit and probably spend money making that happen, so one a time is good enough to start.

I'm really glad you're taking pictures because it does help to see that. I'm thrilled they have models with all the clothes on, as opposed to just pictures of the clothes, but seeing them on different kinds of people helps too, so I'm glad they ask people to post pictures.

This should be interesting. Congratulations on your weight loss so far. I know how dressing for your size can go a long way toward enhancing self-esteem. I was certainly doing it when I was 43 pounds larger and I intend to keep going - thus signing up for this service. I think GB is a great incentive to actually to keep going!

Looking forward to more of your posts.
